My Voice Experience
When I started reporting the news at WMUA Amherst, I wasn't very comfortable behind the microphone, but I loved it and was determined to keep at it. I learned the editing tools and developed my own style while I was there, as well as mastering the Spanish language.
My first job after college was at WFNX Radio Boston where I mastered voice characterization and ProTools. I voiced and produced radio commercials there for about three years.
Bachelor's Degree (2005): University of Massachusetts Boston
Communication and Spanish
WMUA Amherst (2004-2005): News Team at UMass College Radio
Compiled and read daily news, developed news clips and stories, and created Public Service Announcements
Workshop (2004): AI (Art Institute) Boston
learned microphone tricks and editing skills
WFNX Boston (2005-2008) Voice over and production training
Voice over and production artist
My Studio Equipment
ProTools in house studio
I am a young, urban female. I grew up in Saint Paul Minnesota so the Midwestern accent comes quite easily to me. I live in Boston, MA and enjoy concerts and art. I have been here for about eight years so the Boston or Northeastern accents are also quite natural for me.
I teach Spanish at a high school so I always have new material for playing the role of the bored, angry, emotional, or overly energetic teenager. Teaching also feeds the role of a frustrated young woman or strict rule enforcer. I am very comfortable with the Spanish language and tend to have an accent from northern South America, such as Colombia. Teaching also keeps me quite organized and on top of things.
