My Voice Experience
Summary: narrator, character voice, moderator, conversational, video games, Internet commercials, industrials, documentaries.
A voiceover that I did for Johnson & Johnson, entitled "Historically Black Colleges & Universities," won a 2004 Communicator's Award in Washington, D.C.
My voice training began at the age of nine with my mother, who had done both local theatre and radio plays in New York City (WNYC) during her acting career. From my first public speaking event at the age of nine, through high school, she coached me on timing, inflection, projection, enunciation, etc.
Over the years, participation in high school and college plays, narrating/announcing numerous school events, choir, DJing and doing news on the college radio station, voice & diction class, plus acting classes, also helped me to further develop my skills.
As an adult, I have used my voice as a teacher, a corporate trainer and facilitator, to continue to hone my vocal skills.
I also hold both Masters and Bachelors degrees in Psychology.
My Studio Equipment
iMac (Late 2013), running OS X 10.11.5,
Marshall MXL V67i (dual-head) large condenser microphone,
Foucusrite Solo pre-amp,
ART HeadAmp4 headphone amp.
Logic Pro X (Apple).
I appear in the film, "Trophy Kids" in a non-speaking role.
As a published poet ("Wind & Autumn Leaves"), I have also used my voice skills to do local readings of my work.
