My Voice Experience

I have been in doing radio and television voice work here in Fort Wayne, Indiana for over 20 years. I have been the booth announcer for the local NBC affiliate (WISE33) and am currently the booth announcer for the local PBS affilliate (WFWA, PBS39.) I have also spent over 20 years in local radio as a DJ, and free-lance with local production companies. I have also done some singing in the area, and have been told by many folks that I have a great singing voice, too. (OK, mostly karaoke, but I have sung in a few local commercials, as well.)

My Training

I started to hone my skills as a voice over artist in High School, doing announcements during lunch period. I took Mass Communication classes in college, and worked at the college radio station (WITB, Indiana Tech Broadcasting).
I got my first radio job as a part time announcer in 1976, in Auburn, Indiana. I then went on to work at a variety of radio stations, with a variety of formats; rock, classic rock, oldies, country, and religious. I have also written copy, and produced my own spots in the past. I have also had experience M.C.ing and performing (singing) before live audiences.

Additional Skills

In my years of radio, I have worked at some companies that had expected the voice talent to write their own copy. Because of that, I have been able to garner some experience in writing commercial copy, and a bit of minor production, as well as recording my own voice work.
