My Home Base

Los Angeles, California, United States

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

New York (parents were from Brooklyn), Southern, British (both high-end and Cockney), and German are the easiest accents/dialects for me. I speak a little German and Spanish as well.

I find that casting offices and my voiceover coaches are most drawn to the lower-register of my voice; it comes across as confident, warm and dramatic.

For impersonations, look to me for a little Jimmy Stewart, Hugh Grant or Don Pardo. And in case you need something unusual, I can also belch on cue...!

My Voice Experience

Well, it all started in 1976, during the Golden Era of Puberty, when the universe made my voice change. Unlike Peter Brady squeaking through "Time to Change," high school classmates and my drama teachers all complemented me on my voice. I believe my vocal qualities helped me land more mature and interesting characters in theater productions over the past 40 years. My voice also supported my first career - in the media. I began in radio, working as a reporter and anchor for two Santa Barbara County area stations. Then, I made the transition to television, also reporting and anchoring for six different stations in Central California. When I made the decision to pursue acting about ten years ago, I realized voiceover training was essential to advance my career. I took two courses at Kalmenson & Kalmenson in Burbank back in 2007, followed by bi-weekly voiceover classes at Atlantis Sound Studios in Santa Monica. Eight years of classes, training and audition finally led to a booking for my first commercial VO spot - the tagline to a NASDAQ ad. And now I'm ready for more!
