My Voice Experience
Currently the voice of Humanscale out of Denver, CO. At the ripe old age of 4, I was enlisted as 2nd chair-secretary to my father's geological firm based out of our CA home. His recording device and microphone quickly became a source of entertainment. Growing up under my mother's armpit as an only child, I grew to 'notice' in my introverted-ness...in other words, I was kept quiet. The voices inside my head came out in various venues: my room, the hall closet, at the piano and in music class. I loved speaking but was always afraid to without knowing what to say. Upon moving from CA to GA, I was instantaneously termed the 'valley girl' and was expected to perform for everyone(during the 'Valley Girl' song phase by Moon Zappa). I performed on my jr high and high school intercom systems to advertise various events. I then caught the performer bug during my senior year of high school, and it's been all down hill from there. Answering phones and preparing phone messages for schools/colleges(Chapman Theatre/Film Dept), businesses(Stickel & Assoc, Costello & Assoc, & various temp jobs), and non-profits(Forsyth Co Continuing Education Office, CATCo Productions, etc...). Lending my voice to various collegiate ventures from GA to CA for documentaries to film to PSA's. I also used my voice extensively (characters, real voice, singing, and as the director yelling at the cast) for a Radio Theatre Troupe from 2001-2006, where our troupe was broadcast on the airwaves of WDUN. Lastly, I have taught many children and adults how to use their voices... and am continually using my own...to the tune of approximately 20,000 words per day...so I'm told...
BFA Performance, Chapman University, CA (applicable classes: journalism, acting for theatre & film, production for theatre & film).
AA Theatre, Truett McConnell College, GA (applicable classes: voice, acting, directing/production).
My Studio Equipment
Audacity. Intro Lav mic also used with my Canon 7D. A quiet, small, padded white room.
I am a professional actress and can build a character. I have answered phones for many companies,...starting at the ripe old age of 4 for my father's geological firm in CA. Living in England for 2yrs gave me a knowledge of the various British dialects -into which I fell quite easily amongst the natives. College voice classes and church praise team/chorus opportunities also helped me build my vocal repertoire.
