Heather Wilds

Clear, soothing, educated, reassuring (British).

Voice Description

My natural accent is a British RP. So my voice sounds educated which gives it a reassured, informed quality to presentations or educational work. It is smooth and clear. It's pitch is lower so it is warm and relaxing to listen to. It works well for narration (particularly children's stories). The warmer tones add a playful, sexy quality to commercials which sits well with my dry sense of humour. My accent seems to appeal to a mid 20s to mid 30s upwardly mobile market with a disposable income.

My Voice Experience

I was very lucky to start my voice over career with Classic Fox Records performing Shakespeare sonnets and scenes which really showed my voice off to it's full potential. I then moved into children's stories which was most enjoyable and narrations for industrial films and talking books. I have since had the opportunity to record commercials for radio and post sync dubbing for films. I am freelance but tend to work with the same companies repeatedly.

My Training

I have a degree in acting (BA Hons Theatre & Media Drama). I trained at the University of Glamorgan and The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. I am also an accredited ALAM teacher.

My Studio Equipment

I do not have a home studio but am able to tape my voice for auditions and am willing to travel to a local studio to record.

Additional Skills

I am excellent at learning accents. I can sing and dance. I am also I fully qualified Personal Trainer (in London I used to train the military at the Ministry of Defence in Whitehall). I am an enthusiastic amateur chef (mainly because I love eating). I've worked as a part time charity fundraiser for the last 4 years. Last year I raised over a million pounds for St Martin in the Fields in Trafalgar Square. I've run 2 theatre companies, one video production company and I've cleaned toilets too.
