Assured, bright and clear. Soft sell, sexy.
I have natural (but not stuffy) RP coupled with a clear, relaxed voice, making it ideal for the business market. I am also adept at the sexy upper-class soft-sell.
An experienced actress in front of both the mic and curtain, I have played a range of psychopaths, villainesses and bitches for audiodramas, and narrated two audiobooks containing a wide range of characters.
Quirky talents include being a marvellous screamer (I used to be paid to do blood-curdling death screams at the Royal Opera House) as well as convincing miaowing, barking, mooing and bleating. And whining. But that comes with being an actor.
I am an excellent singer (soprano range) with sight-reading and harmony skills.

I trained as an actor for three years at Rose Bruford College and began doing voiceovers in the late 1980s, usually in between theatre jobs. I now rarely act (through choice), preferring to concentrate on my VO career. I love being in a studio!
My early experience included playing Ria in a series of unofficial Doctor Who audio plays in the early 1980s, which apparently still has a cult following. A book about these recordings has recently been released - Justyce Served: A Small Start with a Big Finish.
I am a trained soprano (light lyrical voice) and worked with acapella singing group The Frigidaires, making regular appearances on national TV and radio as well as doing backing vocals on a single produced by Martin Rushent. I'm also one of the singing Delia Smiths in Harry Hill's Tea Time.
My Studio Equipment
I use a Rode NT2000 mic with Audacity for Mac. Audacity gets a bad rap, but if you collect some of the yummy plug-ins, it's possible to produce a great sound. I know it so well now, I can pick out the clicks on the soundwave. However, I'm currently upgrading to Logic Pro and once I've tested it, will probably migrate. I can also access a hi-spec cheap studio in central London.
Like many professional actors, money-making in between jobs becomes an art form. I have worked extensively within Investment Banking in the City, as well as within other sectors including property development, architecture, medicine and local government. Through these jobs, I have gained a very useful range of vocabulary for corporate voice work, as well as an accurate radar for jargon.
I am also a professional writer with a few published articles under my belt and a completed novel currently doing the literary agent rounds.
I live in Inner London, with quick and easy access to all the central recording studios.
