My Voice Experience

Between 1969 and 1972 I was the business administrator for Frank Babcock, one of the most talented voice over artists in his day. I learned much about quality voice over acting through observation and conversations with Frank.

Following his untimely demise in 1972, I returned to the field of insurance, specializing in professional liability for physicians and attorneys. I began pursuing a strong interest in voice over acting in my spare time, by (1)enrolling and completing a 6 week Basic Voice Over training course at Bosco Productions (2) enrolling and completing an 8 week Advanced Voice Over training program at Acting Studio Chicago.

I also devoted 10 years (between 2000 and 2010) to volunteering as a part-time reader for the visually impaired at Chicagoland Radio Information Services (CRIS Radio) and at Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic in Chicago (now known as Learning Ally).

My Training

B.S. Degree in Social Group Work. Completed a beginner's voice over training course in 2006 and an advance voice over training course in 2008.

Part-time volunteer reading and recording at Chicagoland Radio Information Services (CRIS Radio) and Recording For the Blind and Dyslexic between 2000 and 2010 (7 years at CRIS Radio and 3 years at RFB&D)

My Studio Equipment

Have working relationship and arrangement with an experienced audio engineer to record, edit and perform post production services. Will utilize engineer's home studio and expertise, or, as necessary, the full-service recording facility of Bosco Productions located on the premises of Big Shoulders Digital Video Production Company in the John Hancock Building, downtown Chicago.

Additional Skills

After military service (1955-57)I was schooled in insurance and became an insurance broker in Chicago. In 1968 I became the business manager for Frank Babcock, a highly regarded voice over talent with a considerable number of national accounts. This gave me first-hand insight into the voice over industry and the techniques of a really expert talent.

Following Mr. Babcock's untimely death in 1972, I returned to the field of insurance and began specializing in professional liability insurance for physicians and lawyers. In 1976, I became employed by the Illinois State Medical Society to help organize a new insurance company for physician malpractice insurance. I became Vice President of Policyholder Services. Over the course of a 30 year working relationship with physicians, medical practice managers, hospital administrators, through marketing, sales presentations, etc., I have a good awareness of medical practice procedures and techniques; am familiar and conversant with medical terminology. I can comfortably narrate medical training programs, commercials, etc.
