Conversational, Informative, Genuine
My voice is conversational, informative, genuine, friendly, and comfortable. Like the guy next door telling you about the latest gadget he's picked up. For narrations, e-learning, and documentaries I am warm and real, speaking expert-to-expert. For commercials, I'm the guy next door or multiple characters.

My Voice Experience
I am the "voice of Data" for Microsoft, having narrated over 30 instructional videos for products such as Power BI, HDInsight, and Windows. I am also the introductory voice on podcasts hosted at Vagary.tv website.
I have a B.S. in Computer Science and have worked in that field for 30+ years (so highly technical terms and concepts don't intimidate me). I have taken voice-over workshops from Edge Studio and a local Seattle voice teacher (Dorothy Weikel). I am also a solo and choral singer, and have been a choral director and song leader. I have sung and led choral groups in many venues, including Spain, Belgium, and Germany. I acted in several plays in high school, college, and in church productions, including comedies, dramas, and musicals. I have played characters in a few online audio dramas. I have been tinkering with recording equipment since the age of 1/4" reel-to-reel tape decks (ask me about bouncing 4 tracks to make myself a 9-voice choir), and am very comfortable using my computer-based home studio now.
My Studio Equipment
AKG Perception 100 microphone
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
Sonar Artist and Audacity on a Windows PC
I am a technical writer by profession, so I can provide writing and editing help if needed. I prefer to deliver finished and error-free recordings, doing as much editing and mastering as needed to reduce the work on the production end. I'm even comfortable adding sound effects or doing other editing and mixing.
