Eric Goodner

Comedic, Friendly, Confident, Conversational

Voice Description

I have been fortunate enough to have maintained a career in radio my entire professional life, and consistently pursue exciting opportunities to use my voice as a creative tool. My natural voice has a lower pitch, and moves confidently within my lower register. Among my professional voice actor projects, I have portrayed characters like a smooth talking new-age masseur and a man-on-the-street enthusiastically raving about a new restaurant. I have worked radio color commentary in college football and basketball, provided assistance as a voice mail phone attendant, and served as public address announcer for high school sports events.

For business and professional projects, my tone is conversational, articulate, savvy, and intellectual, but never too stereotypical newsreader-prone.

Ads or presentations with a serious message are treated with a calm, understanding tone; rich with depth and avoidance of pity.

My Training

I have a BA in Radio Television from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, TX. During the course of study, I took part in radio television news writing, and delivering my stories on-camera. My reporting skills on and off camera were showcased in a Broadcast Reporting class.

I am the Research Director for ABC Radio Networks (Citadel Media), one of the largest radio companies in the country. I am exposed to all facets of the national radio business from audience tracking to effectiveness of advertsing to listeners. Prior to June 2007, the company was owned by The Walt Disney Company, and over the years I perfected the voices of many Disney characters including Mickey Mouse and Goofy.

In the KD Studio Voiceover Workshop I completed in October 2007, the various types of voiceover genres were recorded in a professional setting. My forte was in the testimonial, hard sell, soft sell, narrative, and dialogue type of jobs.
