Voice Description

I have had much experience in using my voice but not exactly in voice over. I am a stage actor that has had to play several different roles with very different voice characteristics. I have worked in radio not only as a DJ but also in commercial production.
I can do anything from warm and deep for narrations, sexy and fun for commercials, smooth and professional for presentations, and even wacky and crazy for characterization.

My Home Base

, Texas, United States

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I can do British, French, Russian, Italian, Texan, Southern, and New York accents. I don't speak Spanish fluently but I can read out Spanish with life! Once in the production of "Oliver!" the diction coach of the University of Houston came and taught us the basics of diction and how to do the "yorkshire" diction. I love impersonating and singing the sounds of Patsy Cline, Doris Day, Loretta Lynn, Shirley Jones, Enya, and Julie Andrews.

My Voice Experience

Well it all got started when I was about 14 years old when my sisters and I use to record our own 1940's-style radio "Murder Mystery" tapes. We wrote our own stories, created our own sound effects and usually created the voices of at least 3 characters each.
Then when I started college (Blinn and TAMU) I majored in theatre where I played and created the voices of everything from a child, to a dying old woman, from farcical voices to dramatic, serious ones, from a country girl, to Shakespearean characters. I also have performed in several children's theatre productions which is always a fun challenge when performing for kids:-)
I also had the pleasure of working in radio (KTEX 106) where I was a DJ for the midnight show where I created a soft, soothing voice for those who were listening late, and then the lunch time show, where I created a more fun and spunky type of energy in my voice. I also did many commercial productions and based off the content I loved switching my voice up for each one whether it was for a BBQ restaurant, a baby's clothing store or a bank.
I might also add that from age 8 to the present I have sung traditional Latin liturgical music, in case you even need a chant or vesper voice over:-)

My Training

I have a AA in Liberal Arts from Blinn College and a BA in Theatre Arts from TAMU. I have taken several acting classes as well as acted in public performances both in educational and professional theatre. I took diction lessons from Jim Johnson of the University of Houston for several productions at Unity Theatre in Brenham TX.

I learned a great deal more when I worked for KTEX 106 in radio and I have also worked in education where I learned how to hold the attention of children between the ages of 4 and 18.

My Studio Equipment

I do not have a studio but I have the professional recording software Audacity where I can save as an MP3 file, email it to you and where you can download it. In radio I used a software called "voice track" where I edited my breaths, took at any p's that "popped" too loud, any stutters, and added music:-) I loved that job:-)

Additional Skills

I am one who loves people and getting to work with people. Although much of my training has been in the arts, I am currently building a business of my own with a project that is dear to my heart. I suffered with chronic fatigue for 3 years but thankfully recovered my health. I have a blog teaching others how to naturally recover their health as I did.
I am a fast and organized worker but I am still creative and have fun when it comes to what I love doing.
I love traveling and I love to hear different accents and dialects. I pick them up quickly!
I come from a huge family, and they all have completely different personalities! That makes life interesting and it always give me material for voices. :-)
I love kids and know how to talk to them which is why they probably have fun with me. :-)
