My Voice Experience
Over the past 35 years I have had several opportunities to do voice-overs for one reason or another. At age 63, I am an interesting Character and capable of many challenges. I have seen a lot and can re-create a life time of observations utilizing my voice to tell the story.
The possibilities are endless.
In 1975, I was featured in and did the voice-overs for my community, while they were producing an historic slide tape presentation for the town of Watertown. The purpose was to present the historical buildings to parent and student populations through the Schools, Libraries and the Town. This tape was actively shown by the town for over a decade.
During the 80's I did some voice over commercials to promote the building of the Watertown Center for the Arts. I was president and founder of the Organization.
I was the subject of a number of radio interviews to promote my cause over the years, particularly at WBUR and WCRB, Boston.
In 2006, My voice was incorporated into a video as a voice over for the grand opening celebration of the Arsenal Center for the Arts. in the video vignettes of my voice promoted the history of the Watertown Arsenal. The Arsenal Center for the Arts was 32 Years in the making.
In 2006, Harvard University Extension School utilized me and my voice in a short film that was used for promoting Extension School Studies. This was shown at functions and on the WEB.
Finally, I developed my own cable TV shows, Focus TV, where I was out in the field interviewing and we used voice-overs that I did for Segways to my Host. I produced and directed 6-one hour shows for an entire season.
Other miscellaneous opportunities allowed my voice to be projected over the airways.
Harvard University, Cambridge, MA
Bachelors of Liberal Arts in Extension Studies (ALB) Humanities 2006
Field of Study Certificate Dramatic Arts 2006
Associates Degree (AA) 2003
Recipient: Derek Bok Prize for Public Service 2003
While at Harvard, (1997-2006) I studied acting and directing with Scott Zigler, Marcus Stern, Nancy Kofak (voice Coach and specialist)and Pam Murray (voice and music coach). I also studied Public Speaking and Advanced Public speaking for 2 terms with Marjorie North (voice specialist), while at Harvard 2005-2006.
My Studio Equipment
Presently a HP Pavillian Computer..WinXP. I have an older Realistic Microphone and would eventually like to purchase a Sennheiser 416 Shotgun Microphone. Also (looking for an audio interface that has balanced connectors-whether I buy or engage/utilize services. What I am saying is that if I do not have the right equipment, I have access to those who do. I am resourceful.
For instance, I have direct access to a voice Mastering Studio and resources.
I am, as we speak, in the immediate process of purchasing a state of the art Computer with greater specs including more RAM, memory, audio/U-tube access and capabilities (soundcard). It will be used creating, storing and transferring data. Eventually, I would like to produce at home.
I am planning to create a Voice -over power booth according to Harlan Hogan's Instruction, that is with a 14"x14" Whitmor collapsible cube and some pyramid foam. If that does not work, I will purchase one directly from Harlan Hogan.
As a promoter of the visual and performing arts for over 35 years, I believe that I can adapt to any given situation. My background has provided me the opportunity to a clear understanding of the industry.
A retiree from the Real Estate industry (my own), I now have flex time and can be available for numerous projects in and around the Boston area.
I have a burning desire to develop my work in the voice-over business because I believe that it is a growing industry and will sustain and grow regardless of the economic downturn.
I am looking for a career change and am available for consulting, promotion and most prominently, voice-over work. I look forward to your reply.
