My Voice Experience
Watching cartoons growing up, I knew I wanted to be either Speed Racer or the voice of Speed Racer. When I realized professional car racing was probably not in my future, I started focusing more on the sounds of all of the characters in my favorite cartoons and trying to imitate them. My father was a cutting-edge highly specialized physician who taught other doctors (mainly from foreign countries) in addition to his busy pioneering practice. Many of them became his friends, so I spent lots of time listening to them and absorbing their accents. At cocktail parties, my parents would trot me out in front of their guests (usually those same doctors and their wives!) and I would do impressions of them, often to raucous laughter and hearty applause.
I have a Baachelor of Science degree in Radio/TV/Film from The University of Texas.
Upon graduation I moved to Dallas and worked in Industrial Film Production primarily as an editor but also as a 2nd unit cinematographer/videographer, and field sound recordist.
Moving to Los Angeles several years later to pursue voice acting, I received instruction from some of the best in the industry:
Dolores Diehl, Ginny McSwain, Sue Blu, Bob Bergen, Andrea Romano, Bill Holmes
My Studio Equipment
Neumann TLM-103 into a dbx 576 Tube PreAmp/Compressor into an Apogee Duet
into an Apple MacBook Pro running either Cubase 4 or ProTools 10 using a pair of KRK VXT8s for reference
I have also worked as a professional musician (composer, singer, guitarist), touring the US twice in my previous band (7k). I love being, working, creating, and playing in recording studios (mine or anyone else's for that matter) because I really enjoy the environment and am always seeking to learn more.
