Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I've been improvising for over 13 years and every time I go into a scene I don a new character with a new voice and physicality. Some of my characters are similar to each other, but I create a persona that is unique for the scene that I'm playing in. I take this same approach to voice over in that I don't have any stock go-to characters. The copy inspires me through my personal experiences and reflections which invokes a physicality that produces a unique sound for the read. This may sound like a cheesy cop-out answer, but I truly feel I can play any character that is needed for the part.

My stronger characters for voice over high are younger sounding, high energy, and unique sounding.

For accents and dialects I can do Russian, Scottish, Indian, Appalachian, Texan, and Latino.

My Voice Experience

I feel like I've been doing voice over for several years because it is so easy for me. I've done VO pickup lines for a webseries that I act on, Lessons in Film and Television. While this is my only VO experience, I feel like my improv experience is directly transferable to voice over because doing this art form comes natural to me.

My Training

I had one on one voice over training/coaching from Amanda Philipson.

I trained and perform at the iO West Improv Theater in Los Angeles.

I have a bachelor of science in Industrial Technology with a minor in Business Administration.

My Studio Equipment

I have access to a home recording studio that has an enclosed sound dampening booth with a blue baby bottle mic, connected to a mac book running Pro Tools LE.

Additional Skills

I perform improvised comedy on a regular basis and reading copy for voice over is very similar to improvising. Voice over comes natural to me.

I act on a webseries called Lessons in Film and Television where I play Michael Butler who is the quirky lovable office creep. I also write for this webseries.

I write for a website, www.americancraftbeer.com, where I'm the Los Angeles Corespondent. I write humorous articles about craft beer and the LA craft beer scene.

I've been a background investigator for over seven years where I spend the majority of my day conducting a very formal and professional interview of different individuals from every walk of life.
