Warm authoritative upbeat sincere firm clear male
I'm a mature male voice actor with the clarity you seek for radio and TV commercials and as a corporate spokesman in business and industrial presentations, educational and training videos, podcasts, phone and voice systems including on-hold messages, voice mail greetings, and IVR voice prompts. I am equally adept at performing light comedy and bringing characters to life. My core voice is warm, smooth, reassuring and rich in midwestern credibility (I'm from Ohio). I also pack an authoritative punch with a soaring, high-energy delivery, used frequently by auto dealership clients, that conveys urgency and excitement without the abrasive snarl.
My natural age range is early 30's to late 50's, but I can go very wide, having recently played both a teen and a grandfather in major New York radio campaigns. I'm often cast as "everyman"... the friendly guy next door, young dad, business professional, or crisp and commanding voice of reason. I connect with the "History Channel/TV Land/MSNBC" generation and am a great choice to sell big-ticket items to grownups. I'm a full-time professional voiceover talent perfectly poised by virtue of over 40 years' experience to be the radio and TV "voice" of any advertiser, cable system or broadcast network aimed at that audience.

My Voice Experience
I've been in the voice business for over four decades, and have devoted virtually all that time to perfecting the art of the sale through great voiceover technique.
Mel Blanc hired me in 1972 to be the recording engineer and studio operations manager for his Hollywood production company, Mel Blanc Audiomedia. Under his guidance, I learned what separates brilliant voice acting from mere announcing, as I worked with Oscar-winners Kirk Douglas and Jack Palance, legends such as Jack Benny and Rod Serling, and renowned voice artists like Gary Owens, Paul Frees, Ernie Anderson, Casey Kasem and Joanie Gerber. I engineered national spots and syndicated shows, soundtracks for Warner Bros. and Hanna-Barbera and more. It was an extraordinary experience.
This capped my first 10 years in broadcasting, starting in 1963 as an announcer in Dayton, Ohio. The next 30 years were spent in New York as a voice artist and ad agency broadcast production director. I've been recognized for my work on both sides of the glass by the Telly Awards (Gold and Silver), the U.S. TV Commercials Festival, the International Film & TV Festival and the Big Apple Radio Awards. I also won a Hollywood Radio & TV Society Award for commercial animation voice work. With these decades of responsibilty for top production quality in America's biggest market as my background, I'm well prepared to anticipate and fulfill the requirements of producers everywhere.
I am most proud of being chosen to launch the "My First SONY" product line on every major network TV holiday "special," such as Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, for 3 years. I was also honored to be the Senior Promo and Imaging Announcer for Time Warner Cable of New York City through the 1990's. Other media companies, including Crain's New York Business and WLNY-TV, New York, have used me as their spokesperson on hundreds of spots.
I've had a record-breaking run of 15 years as the signature voice of Lexus of Smithtown (and Southampton) on Long Island. Regional dealer groups for whom I've spoken include Cadillac, Honda and Audi. I've represented national clients such as RCA, AOL, Maalox, Michelin Tires, Pizza Hut and Viatronix, plus major East-coast retailers and corporations including Sleepy's Bedding Centers (as "Sleepy"), the NY Metropolitan Energy Council, Kirlin Securities, Atlantic Furniture, Auto Barn Stores, Ganin Tire Stores, G. Fried Carpet, Meenan Oil, Windoworld etc.
Diversifying into both fiction and non-fiction audiobooks, I especially enjoyed performing as Mark Twain in a 12-hour collection of stories from Oxford Press.
"When our audiobook company, Audio Realms Inc., conducted a nationwide search for a voice actor of exceptional ability, we found him in Chuck McKibben. Chuck is that rare voice talent who can bring a multitude of characters to life. Recording for us under the more serious "dramatic" name of Charles McKibben, he is equally convincing as a young, innocent hero or an ancient, malevolent villain.
Weaving a story together with his clear and melodious narrator's voice, Chuck demonstrates great mastery of inflection and interpretation. With a wealth of production experience gained in Hollywood and New York, Chuck displays the highly polished skills that place him among the most accomplished voice artists in America."

I provide private instruction and demo production to aspiring voiceover artists in the greater Philadelphia area. My credentials as a teacher include being former Dean of the NY Voiceover Academy, a senior instructor with CSB and an advisor to the Katharine Gibbs School on Long Island. I've also been the subject of a Los Angeles Times feature article concerning voiceovers. Students not living near Philly can hone their skills with me via phone and internet, as long as they have some basic home recording capability.
