Chris Willoughby

Broad range of voice flux, Mimic, Accents

Voice Description

My best ability is character voicing, but able to perform in many different aspects of voicing. Dialect, accent and tone change are easily worked into my voicing. Although I am new to the voicing arena, looking for a start into prefessional voicing, I have been voicing character for the last 25 years for small sketches and some live radio. My fluxuations can go from warm to course, sexy and fun to evil, smooth to hoarse, professional as used for presentations or commercials, as well as off the wall to be used with story reading and some comedy sketches.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I have range of dialects and accents to include Australian, Spanish, Irish, Scottish, Brittish, Middle Eastern, Germanic, Italian, Ghetto/Street. Impersonations of cartoon characters and some people are an ability I use regularly. I am able to do many different characterizations, such as many Disney animation characters to include Mickey Mouse, Walle, Sebastian the Crab, and more.

My Voice Experience

My personal experience in voicing started when I was little, making soren noises that even fooled the local Fire Chief and neighbor Deputy Sheriff. I moved on to performing many impersonations of different charactersthat I grew up with. As I got older, I started performing different accent work and character voicing when I was a D.J. at our local High School. I would do voicing comedy skits during parties and with friends. I even used my voicing to get a couple of free nights at a hotel once for a friend and I. Voicing was great as a bartender to increase my tips, which worked well, and allowed the patrons to have fun as I mixed beverages while performing a voicing skit. As I came into the political realm over the past ten years, I would find myself on the radio often. Comments would be made stating I have a smooth and confident voice, which was easily understandable.

My Training

Voice overs is somehting I have no formal training with. I have not really done any "professional voice overs," but have been performing voicing and characterization for many years. I am looking to find a way into voice overs and professional characterization. The voicing that I do has been self taught. I do have a background as a Community Council Member for our town over the previous seven years, the last three as Chairman.

My Studio Equipment

I have a laptop computer with Roxio 2011. I am able to do some sound cleaning, but not very professional. I do have some knowledge about audio engineering, but very basic. Again, looking for a start in this area.

Additional Skills

I am a Firefighter/EMT, have worked in the Law Enforcement field, worked in retail and customer service fields extensively. Singing is something that I like to do often, have been told I am very good at, and I agree that I am decent. I am able to use my voicing to bond with and hold the attention of children. I read books to children and use my voicing to create a more dramatic interpretation of the story.
