Voice Description

My main interest is in the field of narration for audio books. My voice is warm and resonant. I can also do a large variety of voice characterizations, dialects and accents.

With regard to things such as commercials and presentation-related material, my voice is whatever the material calls for: smooth and easy or brisk or authoratative, hositable, or humorous.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Italian, Irish, Scottish, variety of British/English accents (from prim and proper to Cockney), French, Indian, deep Southern (a la Bubba Hamshanks), German (from cartoonish to professorial)--so far, pretty much whatever is thrown at me. I find dialects and accents fun to do.

My Voice Experience

I have done readings for a couple of audiobooks. One was on the history of the Great Depression, in which I did a variety of voices (some mimicking newsreel announcers).

Another was for a private client in which I did the book The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho, in which I did over twenty different voice characterizations.

Presently I just got a gig doing a voice of one Father Francis Duffy, the most decorated military chaplain of WW1, for a military museum.

I did also a Scottish doughboy for an audio book on the fighters of WW1

My Training

Studied with voice actor/trainer Joe Loesch as well as with Betty Zoller. I ahve been a prolific reader my whole life and have always enjoyed reading out loud. Who knew one could get paid for it?

My Studio Equipment

I have my trusty Apogee Mic and I largely utilize GarageBand for what I do, although I have Twisted Wave.

Additional Skills

I am also a professional artist ( as well as a writer, presently working on completing my first book (which I also will narrate in its audio form).
