Calm, businesslike, instructive, newslike, radio
I naturally have a deep calming voice, that can become serious, sexy, or instructional, informative and all business. I was born in the Midwest, so my accent is more neutral, I can speak with a more Southern accent, as well .
I have done IVR work for 5 federal government call centers. I am currently hosting a music internet radio show where I provide voice drops. I have been told I sound like someone who should be speaking for a smooth jazz station.

My Voice Experience
2011 to present, I currently cohost a internet radio show called the House of Soul on cyberjamz.com. I mostly broadcast music, but I use my speaking voice to announce events, track information, as well as standard station identification.
2002 to 2011
Record all greetings,on hold messages, and messagess for the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration's IVR. Provide recorded messages to the traveling public on security screening at the airports, travel tips, etc.
Recorded survey and training modules for the agency's Office of the Ombudsman Division.
1999-2002 Recorded all greetings, menus and prompts and recorded messages for the for the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration's Hotline. Washington, DC. My voice was used on the 800 number where consumer calls to get recall and safety information on vehicles and child safety seats. Recorded over 300 to 500 scripts for the IVR. Also recorded public safety announcements on child safety seats for the agency as well.
1992 - 1997 Recorded all greetings, prompts and scripts for the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission, Bethesda, MD. My voice was used on the 800 number where consumers call to get recall and safety information on consumer products. This task included, working with the agency's Public Affairs staff in developing a script for voice from press releases. Recording the script and then recording all the necessary prompts and menus to make the script available to callers. This task was in addition to my responsibility of supervising the agency's Product Safety Hotline. Recorded approximately 200- 300 scripts for the IVR.
I actually have not had any formal training in a classroom setting, but was always told I had a nice voice when speaking in a meeting or presentation. So the experience was all hands on, practicing reading out loud for hours to prepare for recordings. In high school and college, I was active in musical productions, plays and choir. Learned proper diction, and annunciating through years of choir and small singing groups, church and school. Have been cohosting a internet radio music show for the last 4 years, where I actually play music (dj) during the show I
My Studio Equipment
I would like the opportunity to formally start a career in voice over. I am a perfectionist, and am only interested in presenting the best work possible for any project. I am efficient and provide a quick but thorough turnaround time as it relates recording. I take care of my voice, by not indulging in activities that help to ruin it.
