Voice Description

I provide a variety of voices for different applications. I do a warm and comforting narration voice, an epic movie trailer voice (similar to Don LaFontaine), I do Spanish (Mexican) radio voice, and a multitude of characters like old geezer/gold prospector, proper British (like James Mason), to angry goblin... and more. My Voice Experience

My voice has mostly been used in video applications as I am a video producer myself. I mostly work in commercial applications, but also short film, and some music. I think this side of my experience gives me an edge as I know about providing variations when necessary, doing multiple takes, and working fast under a deadline. I seem to be known mostly for my characters but I am a solid straight-man for narration too. From over-the-top movie trailer voice, to swear-you-heard-it-on-Telemundo Spanish narrator voice, to sweet warm fuzzy comforting voice, to the craziest characters you can imagine.

Give my reel a listen.

My Training

I learned the art of voice over and characters through sheer mimicry. I've always been fascinated with accents, tonalities, and all the wonderful range of human voice. I honed my skill through producing my own television and radio commercials I have produced as a videographer and audio engineer. As I grew as an audio engineer, I grew more accustomed to doing my own voice tracks and my clients seemed to like it so I kept at it until I felt very comfortable in that role. Now I have fun with trying out new voices all the time in my home studio.

My Studio Equipment

I have a Sennheiser ME66 short shotgun mic, Sound Devices pre-amp, M-Box 2 audio interface and a beefed out iMac. Then I use Logic Pro X to record and mix. I also have a nice treated room that is super quiet and clean. This gives me the ability to do perfectly pure recordings like for audio books, or add a bit of reverb in post to put my voice virtually anywhere. The main piece of equipment of value is my experience in mixing. Knowing how to achieve a sonic effect is a big part of what I do when creating fully mixed ads.

Additional Skills

-Music recording and mixing experience
-Video production experience
-Working with a team under deadline experience
-Working with a wide variety of personalities experience
...but most importantly, my ear is my biggest asset. I know how to get quality recording and mixes to serve my clients.
