My Voice Experience

I never sought voice over work, but it has always found me. I started my career as a classically trained composer of music and I was usually producing recorded tracks for my clients who would often need voice over, too. In my conversations to try to understand their needs, I would often get the comment, "well, you have great voice. Why don't you record the voice over, too?" They knew I was an audio engineer and could produce professional quality, and thus my voice over career was born. My years of training as an opera singer/actor helped, too!

Voice work keeps me busy and helps pay the bills, too. I have never made a major effort to find this sort of work until now.

MY EXPERIENCE:
Nextenture Inc. - Series of corporate training videos produced for major companies (ongoing)
Apple Inc. - internal company training videos (2013)
Bonobos's ad "The Evolution of the Modern Trouser." (I scored this ad as well!) online ad (2008)
The Tribe - theatrical announcements heard in live shows in Boston, MA. (2002-2004)

My Training

My degrees are in music and music education:
UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA
BM Composition with an emphasis in music technology (audio engineering and production)
BM Vocal Performance - I am a trained opera singer and actor!

VANDERCOOK COLLEGE OF MUSIC
Masters of Music Education

My Studio Equipment

My go-to mic is a custom modified MJE microphone. This mic is beautifully engineer by Michael Joly in Massachusetts and compliments my voice extremely well. I have tried all the most well known mics out there (Neumann, Blue, etc.) and this one is, by far, my favorite.

Grace M101 Preamplifier
Apogee Quartet AD/DA Converter
Logic Pro X for editing and production

I have a vocal booth in my home!

Additional Skills

Trained opera singer and actor
Audio Engineer with 20 years experience and background in classical music. (I think good VO should be as pleasing to listen to as music and that's how I approach it)
