My Voice Experience

I have no formal voice over experience. My real life experiences have been mimicking people and situations as a form of entertainment, or as a form of study in those awkward, "What just happened there?" moments. I was raised with a 4’9” German influenced grandmother who was soft spoken and courteous; however, she commanded enormous respect from the people in our lives. She was a tremendous influence in my life. I was active in the usual drama, music, and sports in high school and college. I always read my children’s bedtime stories in character. I have had the experience of living in rural, suburban, and urban America, in addition to rural and urban areas of Great Britain. I have been known to drive 600 miles for the sole purpose of drinking a beer on top of a mountain with friends. I spent three months observing life on a Sioux Indian reservation. My husband and I turned a five day jaunt to Anchorage, Alaska into a thirteen day adventure (too much red wine the night before we departed…..affected our planning skills). I have volunteered with the local Convent and the local nursing home. My husband and I spent thirteen hours driving a rented car to a resort in Mexico (should have been a five hour drive….husband kept saying he knew where we were going….all signs in Spanish and kmh….odometer in English and mph). Additionally, we survived winter in the Shetland Islands dodging sheep and translating Nordic Scots (the pubs were nice.) I have worked in the restaurant/hospitality and retail industries. I have been a teacher’s assistant in special education, a model, a medical clinician, a medical administrator, a charity organizer, a philanthropist, a farmer, a rancher, and owned multiple businesses. Now, I train horses, travel at every opportunity, and continue to scout for charitable causes.

My Training

Music and drama in high school. Artist by nature. No formal education in voice over or media production. Owned a national pedigreed livestock auction business which included marketing and publications. My husband taught voice and breathing. Exposed to voice for commercials when I modeled....years ago. Presentation, speech, communications, and marketing through my participation with: charitable foundations, school and athletic organizations, corporate meetings, and my businesses: farm, ranch, auction and marketing service, gas station/convience store, medical practice.
