My Voice Experience

Since my voice changed in junior high school, people have been telling me that I should get in to voiceover work, or try to get on the radio. I have always had an interest in radio and video production, and after a brief stint at a small radio station in the promotions department, I began working in television commercial production, and more recently in television program production.

Not long ago I was freelancing at a company that produced a daily online video show called The producers frequently asked me to record my voice for projects they were working on, and when I started to hear the finished products, I was surprised. I had never actually tried any doing any voiceovers, but the projects came out sounding quite good.

That convinced me to do some research and try to audition for some projects and pursue a secondary - and possibly one day - primary career in voiceovers.

My Training

I have been studying with Nancy Wolfson, founder of Braintracks Audio (Braintracksaudio website) since September 2008 and have completed her commercial voice curriculum.

My Studio Equipment

I have a Macbook pro that I use with a snowball microphone to create tracks on Audacity.

Its a pretty simple set-up but generates some fantastic audio.

Additional Skills

As a result of my experience in media production, I am very aware of what goes in to putting together a project, and the importance of timeliness and deadlines. There is usually a lot on the line for the people putting together media projects, as well as a large amount of money on the line in most cases, and I take this in to consideration and work professionally and efficiently.
