Impersonations or Characters:
A wide variety of CARTOON and ANIMATED voices. Can range from delusional cats, to evil queens, from aliens to snotty nosed kids. Or any other character you need, as long as there is ample direction and character story to go off of.
A character that I have been working on is:
6 year old child that knows waaaay too much about the adult world, named "Zoe the Kid". Her voice is very squeaky and high pitched, and a bit devilish. She's very sassy, and often escapes her babysitters. She has an absentee father, and mother's not around much either, but long enough to embed inappropriate knowledge into her brain. This particular Character is the most developed character/ voice that I have been performing on stage since Mid 2012. I write Zoe's punchlines, and when on stage, I improv the dialogue around the punchlines... The entire character is sort of an allegory to the conditioning that our modern day children are being brought up into. The media, the food, the priorities of a modern world are making it so children are TRYING to grow up faster, and yet they are still so innocent. You see the innocence and the wisdom in Zoe when she's on stage. Its this complex duality that makes people feel AWKWARD and yet COMFORTABLE at the same time... Zoe is a bit of a controversial character.
My Voice Experience
In late 2013, I finished filming and editing a "Service and Sustainability Learning Orientation" video for a local college in Hawaii, Kapi'olani Community College. I did do a portion of the Voice Over work in the video, as well as directing/editing the film and audio.
Most recently, a 60 second voice over for a Business school in Texas.
I have never taken any classes specifically to train as a voice over artist.... However, I've ALWAYS been very animated and enthusiastic about exploring new characters and voices, since I was young. I've done children's theatre when I was a kid, and recently, since 2012 have gotten back into doing improvisation at a local open mic stage every week, (where new voices and characters are born).
I've taken vocal class and choir for singing since I was young, and am currently taking music and voice classes for singing in school at the moment. My vocal range for singing is quite wide. So in voice acting, this translates to having the ability to do very high pitched and clear voices, as well as some very convincing deeper masculine voices. People are always entertained by the sounds they hear, and have often told me that I should be a voice actor.
My Studio Equipment
Studio uses the program 'Logic Pro X '
sound input: 'M-Audio M track plus Interface'
Microphones including a brand new 'Shure Super 55 Deluxe Supercardioid Vocal Microphone'.
It creates a warm and full tone... I like to call it the "Elvis Mic".
Also an 'Audio Technica 2050 Multiple Pattern Capacitor Microphone' .
It really picks up on the subtleties of the voice.
All running on MAC OSX.
On screen acting
