Authoritative, Deep, Whimsical, Characters
My voice is suited for many different types of projects. It's naturally deep and authoritative and can be used for documentaries, narrations, tv and radio spots, book-to-tape, etc. I can also do voice characterizations for cartoons, different accents, including French, Australian and German. I can be serious and/or light-hearted, whimsical. My sense of humor comes across.
I love doing voice-overs and that also comes across.

My Voice Experience
I've been a broadcast journalist for the past 22 years. I've worked in TV and radio news and TV and radio sports as a newscaster and sportscaster/reporter. I've covered events like the 2002 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Milwaukee, to Montreal Canadiens training camp in Vail, Col. I've always enjoyed being on the air, whether it's with a microphone in front of me in a studio or in the field as a reporter. I love reading and I love telling a story. I've done voice-over work for corporate videos, one in which buses were being sold to an overseas firm. One of my favorites was a Bat-Mitzvah where I acted as an announcer with a very 1950's style, which is what the family wanted. It was shot in black and white and it felt like Edward R Murrow.
As far back as I can remember reading, it's always been fun reading out loud, whenever given the chance.
I was in Concordia University's Undergraduate Journalism Program. That's in Montreal, Quebec. It's a big school, about 25,000 students. Got out in the spring of 1987 and started working for a local newspaper. Seven months later, I was on the air as an overnight newscaster, and my 22 year radio and tv career began. I've been a newscaster and sportscaster on tv and radio. Two of my greatest assets are my voice and my experience.
My Studio Equipment
My portable home studio consists of a MacBook Pro (Intel Core Duo) running Logic Studio 9. My microphone collection consists of several classic dynamic mics such as the Shure Beta 58 and a high quality Rhode NT-02 Condenser Microphone. I usually record at a sample rate of 192KHz at 24 Bit in order to get the best sound possible with my equipment. I am then able to convert the recordings into whatever format that is needed for a given project. I use a pair of Yamaha HS-80 studio Monitors and have a large collection of plug-ins and effects which can be used to turn the voice into anything imaginable.
First and foremost, i am a professional. I work hard and I deliver a high quality product. I use the voice I was given to lend an air of authority to work including narrations and newscasting. But I also have a sense of humor (just ask anyone who knows me) that comes through in lighter projects like an upbeat radio ad or a kids' story. I work fast and am often a one-take wonder.
