Energetic/Happy to Dramatic, Characters, Accents
I can provide a happy, energetic delivery. I've often been told that listeners can hear the happiness or "laugh" in my voice. Often, depending on the product or subject, a more subdued, serious or dramatic style is necessary. I've worked on a number of these projects over the years. I'll give you a fair amount of flexibility. From smooth and sophisticated to sarcastic, from bursting with happiness and energy to just plain gruff, I have the experience and skill to make your project a success.

I do an imitation of Bill Clinton (example available) plus some classics like James Stewart, Walter Brennan, Boris Karloff, Humphrey Bogart, Rod Serling, Dracula and an old man.
My Voice Experience
20 years of radio broadcasting and production experience. Also, over the last 10 years TV voice work. I've done work for a wide range of clients; everything from car dealers to grocery stores to funeral homes. I've voiced local spots for the Cincinnati Reds, McDonald's, Wendy's and NBC. I've specialized in intricate pieces of production with many elements (music, fx, voices). I've also been the go to guy for helping colleagues "cleaning up" noisy audio. I'm a stickler for detail and I strive to give the client what is required. When I am finished with a job it's ready to go whether it is simply dry voice or highly produced and if a client has asked for a one minute commercial it will be ONE minute not 1:02.
In addition to my commercial work, I've written, performed and produced numerous features for my radio show- parody commercials and phony political ads, a take off on soap operas, "Narration Theater" which required me to do comedy and drama. My experience in voice over work is varied and extensive. I'm looking forward to tackling your project!
My voice over training has been ongoing for the last 20 years as I've worked in radio/tv. Along the way I learned from very talented, if not well known, people. Also, very early on, I learned the importance of pleasing clients whether I received instructions from the client personally or from an account executive on the client's behalf. I've done some local theater work both produced material and a stage part. I've done plenty of live remote broadcasts for radio including a non stop 90 minute interview stint at Cincinnati Reds Fest. I also do a variety of live and recorded interviews for radio on a regular basis.
From an early age I was drawn to and fascinated by radio and tv personalities who not only had something to say, but found an interesting, entertaining or unique way of saying it. My heroes growing up and still are Gary Burbank (WLW Cincinnati), Don Pardo, Rod Serling and Marty Brennaman (Long Time Reds Broadcaster). I've always thought of voice overs and broadcasting as art and not just a grind-it-out proposition.
My Studio Equipment
I have an ElectroVoice RE-20 microphone which I use with
an R.M.E.Babyface to interface with my computer.
Adobe Audition CS6 audio editing software operating on a Dell 620 with Windows 7. I've worked with an earlier version of Audition at my radio station for years and it's fantastic. For my home studio I wanted to have the latest, most up-to-date version. It provides nice flexibility for recording, adding fx and mixing down multiple tracks. I always get audio that's as clean and clear as rocky mountain air.
I have an impressive library of professional music beds and sound fx from Sound Ideas, so I can provide full production services.
One of the good things about working so long in radio/tv is that it has given me the opportunity gain exposure to a number of different jobs, personalities and topics of discussion.
I've worked with advertising clients from an amazing variety of business: Restaurants (McDonald's, Wendy's), Funeral Homes, Insurance Companies (State Farm, Nationwide), Movie Theaters (Cinemark), Auto Dealers, Grocers and nearly everything in between.
My interview subjects have been multitudinous and sundry as well. I've talked with celebrities like Josh Robert Thompson (The voice of Craig Ferguson's sidekick Geoff Peterson)and Tracii Guns of L.A. Guns. I've also had many opportunities to sit down with Cincinnati Reds players and broadcasters like Brandon Phillips, Ryan Hanigan, Devin Mesoraco, Logan Ondrusek, Todd Benzinger, Marty Brennaman and Chris Welsh. In addition, I have regular on air and recorded interviews with folks from various local businesses and organizations.
Through my commercial production efforts, interview prep and interviews themselves I've been able to learn about a lot of different areas.
Also, I have a B.A. Degree in Sociology/Criminology and I worked for a time as a drug counselor.
I do very well with Spanish pronunciations as I had 4 years of Spanish in high school and 2 years in college.
