My Voice Experience

Canadians know me well from decades at CBC-TV's "The Journal" and the iconic Hockey Night in Canada -- but I'm really a son of Brooklyn NY (though without a trace of the accent, I lost it in the '70s when I started in radio upstate) -- as a documentary correspondent, I covered stories ranging from the Tiananmen Square crackdown to the 300th anniversary of the Law of Gravity -- I've condicted thousands of broadcast interviews and written hundreds of shows for Discovery, National Geographic, CBC, and many other networks -- currently, I write a weekly syndicated column on the Washington political scene --

My Training

my degree is in Astrophysics from Rensselaer Poly. Inst., so not very relevant! I started as a radio sports commentator and hockey play-by-play announcer in the earlt 1970s in Upstate NY -- moved to Canada to cover the Toronto Blue Jays when they were founded, was based in Beijing for 2+ years, then moved into TV news and documentaries -- I've written four non-fiction books, have reported from more than 100 countries --

My Studio Equipment

only a digital recorder -- I am not a technician but have many friends/associates locally in the DC area who can take on any audio job with me --
