Aimee Babee

Voice Description

I have a very distinct voice which is extremely versatile.
My voice is an alto and slightly on the raspy side. I have a decent range, so I am able to reach a higher pitch, as well.
I can sound sweet, sultry, professional, sexy, assertive, silly, cute, and inviting, even if I am upside down or speaking in a foreign language...
I am articulate and have great inflection in my voice, which is great for narraration, documentaries, presentations, commercials, infomercials, monologues, advertisement, childrens shows and/or books, animation, tv, movie, radio, comics, video games, prose, books on tape, lectures, etc.
I am also a singer, so I am able to control my breathing and able to utilize my voice and breath when it is important for pausing and accenting certain words or phrases.
I am an actor, so I am able to associate myself with a character or situation where I may use my voice to influence an audience.
I have performed on stage, hosted tv and radio shows, and am fantastic in front of a crowd. I am comfortable in any setting and my confidence shines through my voice.
I have no ego, so I take direction well, am open to constructive criticism. I prefer to enjoy the experience while maintaining professionalism at all times.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I am very good with impersonations and accents.
Love to perform in different characters.
I can do a Texas accent, from the city, such as Dallas or Houston, as well as one from "the country", which is completely different with a more "ignorant, dragged out slang".
I am originally from the east coast, so I am able to perform different dialects from Jersey, NewYork, such as Brooklyn, Long Island, Staten Island, The City, because there IS a severe difference, Philly, etc.
I am half Italian and Israeli, so I have the English accent for both down to a tea, as well as can read/speak both languages, so my accent is dead-on for both.
I can do a Hispanic-American, African-American, Southern Baptist, Jew, Yankee Jew, Guido, etc.
I can read/speak in English, Spanish, Hebrew, Italian, French, Russian, and Yiddish.
I love impersonating actors and creating new characters.

My Voice Experience

My voice has surprisingly led me on its own adventure.
Never really thought I had a unique sound, but have been told people know exactly who is behind my voice and can recognize me immediately.
I have been using my voice to demand people's attention since I was very little!
I have been singing and performing since I was 3 or so and being the third out of four kids, I was the perfectionist who wanted the spotlight.
I have been the lead in 3 school plays and musicals.
I competed and won first place in speech tournaments for prose, poetry, and duet-acting over three years.
I have been recording music and singing on tracks, as well performing live for about 20 years.
I have co-wrote/sing to music on vinyl which has been played in clubs locally and at Winter Music Conference in Miami by known DJs.
I have done voice-over work in Japanimation films.
I have been involved in narraration projects, an announcer, on many occasions, and a host for plays, hair, product, and music shows, events, contests, and my own show with a panel.
I record lead vocals and have sung back-up for artists.
I sing house, trance, blues, jazz, rock, and ballads.
I have used my voice for answering machines and internet advertisement.

My Training

Being a child from a mother who is an opera singer, I was taught very early the importance of not straining your voice and treating your voice as a precious instrument.
I was taught how to breathe properly and to use my diaphram to expand and expound on the sounds I could extract from my voice.
I have been performing on stage since I was little.
Always jumped at the chance to be the one who read aloud in class.
Have taken many speech classes, acting classes, some vocal lessons from junior high all throughout high school and college.
I have been singing with my family since a little girl and still do today, all day, if possible!
I performed for the first time, had my first gig in Denton, Tx, at a local bar when I was just 17 or 18. Sang Stevie Nicks.
Used to sing and perform in a few bands.
I wrote for my high school newspaper, the entertainment section, so I was always reporting and relaying information to my peers.
I was in many clubs and I was always the one elected to speak on stage and represent the organization.
I was a cheerleader, so I was loud and assertive!
I am a member of many organizations and sometimes speak at seminars.
I intend to help others be heard with my voice!

My Studio Equipment

I am going to be completely honest....I do not have my own studio, although it is definitely a priority which will come to fruition soon.
I am very aware of the recording process and am comfortable in the studio, behind the mic and fascinated with the production side.
I have access to several studios, if necessary, and I have my own mic, amp, keyboard, laptop, etc. that I use with my MAC, and have been pretty McGuyverish when it comes to creating unique sounds.
I am familiar with Garage Band, Pro Tools, ,

Additional Skills

Well, considering that I have always been outgoing and adventurous, I have placed myself in some interesting settings throughout my life, both professionally and personally.
I have worked in many genres of business and versatile positions which has given me incredible people skills and a platform to express myself and explore life and the wonderful opportunities it has created for me.
I am honest and passionate. I am creative and assertive. I am intelligent and silly. I am musical and scientific. I am open and can listen. I LOVE LIFE!
I have been in sales in the hair industry, oil/energy industries, the entertainment industry, fashion, and in the beauty/aesthetics industry.
I have been in management, a consultant, event coordinator, promoter, model, performer, and self-employed.
I have been respected because of my work ethic, my empathetic nature, and my level of professionalism, all the while promoting individuality and creating a "free" and safe environment for my employees and colleagues.
I have a strange, pure confidence, that allows me to see things clearly and to TRY!
But, I have also endured diversity, racism, sexism, jealousy, and disloyalty which has also contributed to my awareness of others' capabilities/incapabilities, despite their age or history. I have a HUGE range of experiences, whether light or dark, and in multiple scenarios, which has allowed me to see I am able to share similar emotions and empathize with others without judgement and forced me to evolve and grow.
I am a doer. A mother. A reader, singer, artist, animal lover, a super hero, dancer, acrobat, inventor, adventurist, colorist, choreographer, performer, conduit, fashion designer, decorator, poet, make-up artist, athlete, gymnast, surfer, leader, teacher, student, daughter, writer, gardener, herbologist, scientist, musician, linguist, craftsman, enthusiast, organizer, planner, dreamer, creator, survivor, optimist, and most importantly, I am a believer!.....I have a VOICE! It must be heard!
