energetic, upbeat, educational, young, hip, real
My voice has a young quality, is slightly on the higher side, and has a natural energetic edge. These qualities make me quite suitable for commercials that advertise toys and other children's projects. I also have a raspy quality that I can bring out when I speak in a lower register; this is perfect when a sexy more mature style is required. As a teacher my day, I am a natural for doing presentations and for my explanation skills. when performing this kind of work; I can be smooth and warm. My background in musical theater and dance can also make my voice musical and rythmical when needed.

My Voice Experience
I started in the voice over industry "Backwards". I had no experience or training in voice overs and I boldy went to an audition in NYC for "Activity Works", a kinestetic and educational video-audio program for k-2 graders in elementary schools. Shocked, I was one of the 4 women selected for the job. I found it incredible that I was chosen over many talented and experienced voice over artists. For the job, I performed 4 scripts, each composed of 5 minutes of my voice. This was a good amount of reading for my first job, but I dived in and not only did well, but learned so much from my first session. Since then, Activity Works invited me back to do the voice over work for their sales video. As an experienced performer in other areas of show business, I decided to give voice overs a shot. To do this correctly I no longer wanted to be a "hacker"; as a result I have been studying with David Zema, a well known voice over coach in NYC for the past year and have learned so much. I know that my growth with him will help me do a great job on your project. I recently recorded a commercial demo with him that I will be posting shortly.

My Studio Equipment
I have a small studio in my house and have access to my voice over coach's professional studio in NYC. I use shure microphones.
As stated in previous sections of this profile, my teaching, musical theater, and Mcing experiences have all helped me develop as a voice over artist. As an accomplished MC (I have hosted many weddings, parties, nights at bars, etc.) I am a natural announcer. As a very experienced musical theater actress, I know the art of acting and can bring a sense of character to any job. As an educational professional I explain things to my students, colleagues, and parents on a daily basis. Instructional speech comes natural to me. As a cheerleading coach at the high school where I work, I have also had to speak about my team in front of large audiences. After working for over a year with David Zema, I have mastered the art of listening closely to direction, making decissions about characters, and making my voice over craft one that speaks to real people. Lastly, my husband has been in the advertising industry since 1999; his other side perspective about the voice over industry has grounded me and made me more aware of the different branches of the industry that contribute to a successful end product.
