My Voice Experience

I started doing dubbing for a lot of Japanese Anime, including, most notably, Robotech (as Lisa Hayes), Dogtannian (as the sexy villainess, M'lady), as the mouthless Melody in "Captain Harlock" and many others. I did some vocal gymnastics to voice both Beth and Aunt March in a Japanese version of "Little Women". I also did live action movies including the voice of the mother in the English version of "My Life as a Dog". I dubbed the voice of the husky voiced, smoking bad girl in the Spanish soap, "The Rich Also Cry". Many of these were for Intersound and Harmony Gold. In recent years, I did less voice over and more on camera TV commercials, most notably as the character of Lady Luck for the Virginia State Lottery. That included many radio spots. Lady Luck was known for her rather low and sarcastic voice, although she was still funny and likable. In the last few years, I also reprised some Robotech characters in video games and a new Robotech movie.

My Training

BA from Arizona State University, attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, Shakespearean workshop with British teacher/director John Allison, and many years of presentations to young people, at career seminars and in classes, that required smoothness and likability. Also years of stage work.

Additional Skills

I am a published and produced playwright. As the long lived character of Lady Luck, I was given commercial material for radio spots and in house Lottery presentations to "punch up". I also wrote material for videos posted on the Lottery Web site. Once they discovered I could write, I did a fair amount of work for them.

As an acting teacher for kids and adults, I have also written plays and sketches geared towards certain age groups.

I am also a director, and can work with all ages.
