My Voice Experience
I did my first VO in the late 80s, which was for a bank commercial. After that, I continued to get gigs, even while working as a writer at a "day job." In the mid-90s I left my day job to do VO full-time. I've been fortunate to continue to get new clients with interesting projects. I've narrated complex pharmaceutical and medical scripts, financial services programs, and educational textbooks for the classroom. I've even been the voice of some political campaigns! My client list is long and, fortunately, keeps growing.
I have a degree in TV Production/Speech & Theater from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. While in college, I worked as an assistant in the Speech Department, coaching acting students in the arts of oral interpretation and reader's theater. I had no idea at the time that this work was preparing me for a voiceover career! Since that time, my voiceover education has continued: I learn something new from every director I work with.
My Studio Equipment
I have a Studio Projects mic hooked up to a preamp that records into audio software on my Macintosh computer.
I'm also a writer. I take select writing projects that include writing e-learning courses, website copy, professional bios, and more. I also work as an editor for other writers and specialize in massaging content into audio narration.
