Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I can perform many accents, though my best are British, Irish and Russian. My Russian accent can be altered to suit most Eastern European dialects. The Irish can also lead to a more Scottish sounding dialect.

My Voice Experience

Although I am relatively new to voice acting, I have been doing live theater for over 25 years. The live stage is where I honed my accent skills. Since starting voice acting, I have completed 5 projects, 3 of them paid. I have also successfully auditioned for and have been cast in over 20 new projects that are currently in the works. One of these is a contract for a 4-book audio series where I voice two of the main characters. I have a home studio and can edit a lot of my own work for projects such as radio dramas, or characters where dramatic music or effects enhance the listening experience. A couple of these can be heard on my demos tab. I work in Health Care Information Management and I am exposed to professionals (doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, etc.) all through the day. I have strong presentation skills with excellent public speaking experience. I train doctors in certain aspects of their daily job duties. This on the job experience has helped train my voice in articulation and expressive communication.

My Training

B.A. in English Education with an emphasis in Literature
A.A. in Speech communications with a minor in Theatre
I'm also a CPC (Certfied Professional Coder)
H.S. Diploma - Theatre Arts and English were my strengths

My Studio Equipment

I use a Yeti Multi-pattern USB microphone with pop filter; 48 kHz sample rate, 20 Hz - 20 kHz frequency response.
Studio software includes Windows 7 with Audacity software, file conversion to MP3

Additional Skills

As a Health Information Management professional, I am exposed to many types of personalities and learning styles. I have been able to successfully communicate with people and professionals from all walks of life. I am often called upon to present educational materials and live presentations.

I play soccer and weight train for recreational activity. In soccer, I manage a Men's team with various personalities and accents. This helps me develop authentic sounding voices and characters. I also volunteer for youth soccer coaching which helps me keep my finger on the pulse of the younger generation.
