WILD Australian
This is a introduction video to a sermon series for a church. We're looking for a high-energy, Australian voiceover like that of "Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter." We may have a video every week for the next sermon introduction video. We will know after the first week if we plan to continue doing recurring videos.

Wild: Week One – The Ant

Did you know that God asks us to learn from animals? Job 12:7 states “Ask the animals and they will teach you.” or in Proverbs “Evil people run even when no one is chasing them. But good people are as brave as a lion.” Proverbs 28:1 (ICB)

At times, God uses animals to do things that humans can’t do. Like a donkey mocking a foolish man by talking to him, or having a whale swallow a wayward prophet. Many scholars believe that animals even talked in the Garden of Eden to explain why Eve wasn’t surprised by the Serpent talking in Genesis. I digress.

Animals are important. God made them and tasked us with taking care of them. Each is unique and different from each other. And each has qualities specific to them that we as humans can learn from. For the next few weeks, we’re focusing on a couple of these Biblical animals. And, today we look at the ant…

Ahh yes. The Ant. Small. Strong. Yet easy to step on…or burn with morbid curiosity and a magnifying glass in the summer. Some things you may or may not know about them. There are ant species that can support up to 100x their own weight. They are the longest living insect – up to 30 years! All worker, soldier and queen ants are female (which begs the question “What do the men do?”). Most important for us today is that ants live in colonies. Highly social animals, the colony is a collective, with each type of ant performing its function for the betterment of the entire collective. Their bodies release chemicals that act as communication for where food is, or to create paths for averting danger. Some scientists name the colony a “super-organism”, in other words, each ant is in tune with all other ants in the colony, so that in any given moment they all know what to do intuitively without a specified leader.

So, today, keep this idea in mind when the pastor reads the text… And welcome to “Wild”…
