This is a series of infotainment pieces meant to enlighten building owners and employees/occupants, about the features put in place to make the build environment they occupy more pleasant and healthful to them overall. They want someone to sound warm, informative, and-when needed, fun. They liked Dean Wendt, but felt his voice was missing a storytelling quality to it.

Your Circadian Rhythm. My circadian what now? It’s a rhythm we all have controlling physical, mental and behavioral changes in our bodies, following roughly a 24-hour cycle. These changes are driven by your biological clocks – timekeepers within each cell in your body.

In other words, light influences your body clocks, which then influence your circadian rhythm, which tells you when to sleep, wake up, and be active. This is why we are typically most alert while the sun is shining, and feel ready to sleep when it gets dark.

One hormone that helps control body clocks is called melatonin.
