Welcome to our new brand 
This is a buyout, it's for a short animation (1-2mins) about an organisations new brand. It's for a University and will feature on their website and be used in presentations.

It's an abstract animation that uses circles to create various scenes which introduce the 'new branding' and explain why they've done it.

It needs a friendly narrator who can be energetic and upbeat without being 'wacky'.

Welcome to our new brand.

This video tells its story – why we have a new brand, how it was created, and what it is.

So let’s start with why.

Why have we rebranded?

Because, given how much we’ve changed since becoming a university in 2005, the time was right for a new message – and a whole new look.

We needed to come together as one Solent, and to speak with a clearer, more consistent voice.

Also, our old brand just wasn’t making the splash we needed.

And we’d outgrown it. We needed something brighter, bolder and more confident – just like us.

How was the brand created?

Well, it all started with research. Your opinions were gathered on who we are and what people think of us.

When a clear picture emerged, it was boiled down to one word:


It’s bold. But when you think about it, it couldn’t be anything else - because it’s exactly what we are.

We’re lively and confident. We’re optimistic. We’ve come a long way, and we can’t wait for what’s next. We’re growing all the time too, and our reputation just keeps on rising.

One more thing: it’s also how we make our students feel.


Unstoppable isn’t our strapline. It’s our essence.

And it’s how we’re going to look, from now on.

The rebrand uses brighter, more vibrant colours.

And it’s all built around a circle. There’s a good reason for this.

It’s like a sun. Bright and energetic.

It’s like a porthole. Very Southampton.

And it’s as bold and distinctive as we are.

So, that’s a quick look at the new brand.

We hope you like it. And we’re confident it will help us keep on pushing ahead.
