Script Details

Working in an office takes a toll on your mind and body. BOS, Ergotron and Unfold have teamed up to show you a better way to work! Let’s get into… The Movement Mindset

Even with the best of intentions, it’s not always easy to maintain good posture. Research has found that bending the head at a 60 degree angle to look at a phone screen puts 60 pounds worth of pressure on the cervical spine, the part of the spine above the shoulders. In today’s technology driven workplace, screen-time quickly adds up to become a real pain in the neck!

Fortunately, the discreet Locust Post is the perfect way to reduce neck and shoulder tension.
Start by sitting at the edge of your chair with your feet flat on the floor… toes pointing forward.
Reach your arms behind you, grabbing the edge of your chair and rolling your shoulders back and down. For a deeper stretch, try interlacing your hands behind your back.

Sit tall, reach the crown of your head towards the ceiling and bring your right ear slowly to your right shoulder.

Hold for three breaths. Slowly change sides and hold for three more breaths. Repeat three to five times or as needed. Locust Pose is also easy to do while standing.

This exorcise opens the chest, shoulders and throat, increasing breath capacity. It also strengthens your back and combats slouching.

Height adjustable solutions like Ergotron’s WorkFit sit-stand workstation can also help. In a recent Take-a-Stand study, participants experienced a reduction in upper back and neck pain by 54%.
