Project Main Details

The Irony of Bourbon
ZD2142011
This will be voiceover for a short animation (about 1-2 minutes) about the special way one distillery in Kentucky makes its bourbon. The animation and VO will be part of a longer promo video (TRT about 3 minutes) touting this particular distillery's unique place in the grand American tradition of bourbon making.

We are looking for a mature, friendly, knowledgeable and approachable male voice with a "Kentuckian" style accent, a slight but definite southern drawl. If you search on YouTube for "Kentucky Accent study 9", you'll find something along the lines of what we're looking for, although we're not locked in to that particular style. The talent we're looking for needs to be capable of projecting warmth and inclusion while explaining what will be a slightly technical process.

Bourbon, THE American Spirit.

It starts out as a mixture of corn, rye and barley, with water and yeast added. That's all. In relatively short order, it becomes a potent clear harsh distillate called "white dog", ready to go through the aging process that will turn it into the brown, sweet, caramel elixer we know as Bourbon. To get there, though, takes time. A lot of it. It takes money, too. You see, unlike all other whiskeys, Bourbon must be aged in new charred white oak barrels and it's right here that the magic happens, where the transformation takes place.
