The History of Sugar ZD2266441
We're producing a 4-part animated video series about the history of sugar, and are looking for a smart and conversational narrator to carry each episode from start to finish. Our narrator's voice should feel natural, relaxed, intelligent and confident -- it should sound like a cool young teacher casually talking to us, rather than a salesman or actor.
This Vox video is a good reference for what we're going after: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaX_PwxSh5M&t=168s
The series will live on YouTube.
Each episode will be 3-6 minutes in length, and each script will be roughly 1,000 words.

Sugar. Tiny crystals, bursting with sweetness. Most of us can’t get enough of the stuff. We love it in our morning cereal, our afternoon soda and our evening desert. But this rampant consumption wasn’t always the norm. For most of human history, the amount of sugar in our diets was fairly negligible. In 1700, the average Englishman consumed only 4 pounds of sugar per year. A hundred years later, this number had risen to 18 pounds. By 1900, average sugar consumption was up to 100 pounds a year. And today, the average American consumes about 150 pounds of sugar per year.
