This is stored data.

The manifestation of human innovation.

How did we get here?  Where is it heading?

In the beginning, computers were...humongous.

But inside, something almost invisible was happening.

Hard drives were storing data.

Creating a new digital frontier…

Then a little company did something most profound.

They put stored data — 5 whole megabytes to be exact — in the palms of our hands.

And in that moment, data became personal…

but not connected.

Ah, the rise of the information superhighway.

Stored information finally became shared information.

DVR’s replaced cable boxes, cell phones emerged from pagers, and gamers were set free from their living rooms..

Yet, something was holding data back…

Speed.

Faster networks opened the floodgates for massive volumes of stored data.

People could now talk, share, learn, collaborate, buy, and sell.

Search engines became infinite knowledge engines.

Communities formed and grew by the millions.

Digital transactions multiplied exponentially.

But the data was fragmented…

The Cloud…omnipresent data.

Server racks stretching as far as the imagination.

Artificial intelligence, machine learning, drones, autonomous cars...

The Internet, now an “Internet of Things.”

And the Data Age is upon us.

Yet, we find ourselves here once again, realizing every bit relies on one simple notion…

the ability to store it all.

After-all, stored data is the very fabric of our digital universe.

And we are here to make that possible.
