San Juan Interactive Film

San Juan Interpretive Film is a unique opportunty to learn about the long military experience of defending the port of San Juan over a 500+ year history. The story of Puerto Rico is an important part of that tale, a history forged in battles over the rise and fall of the Spanish Empire, and the unique uniting of cultures and identities that make up the legacy of this country. It is a story of struggle and conflict, compromise and persistence that ultimately mediated the character of Puerto Rico and its relatively recent relationship as a territory of the United States. It is a story of the ever-evolving fortifications designed to protect against foreign invaders. And it is a story of colonial rulers governing the local population, enlisting their lives, harnessing their labor and sacrificing their blood over centuries as the outside world fought over the fate of the island.
