Script Details

David: Tell me, after discovering the damage — just after 10 p.m. — what did you do?

Jon: I went home. I was livid. Car was wheezing the entire way home. The muffler was dragging on the pavement. It was almost impossible to steer with the airbag in the way.

David: The airbag deployed?

Jon: Yeah. I stuffed it back in the column the best I could, but it was still in the way.

David: Wow, that’s unusual. Were there any witnesses?

Jon: Witnesses? It was 10 o’clock at night. Have you been downtown lately at night? It’s a ghost town.

David: So, no witnesses. What about the grocer? Did you go back in to check if they had seen or heard anything?

Jon: It’s a 19-year-old kid who works the night shift. What was he gonna do? And it’s not like they have their own parking lot anyway. I was on the public street.
