Project Main Details

Male Voices for Cowboy Video Game
In search of a cowboy accent for a cowboy/wild west video game. We need voices for 3 distinct characters, all male cowboy characters.

Specifically the VO is for a cut scene we will include at the beginning of the game. The game is focused on characters and story, we feel some good cut scenes can really help bring the game's characters to life. We feel to properly accomplish that a great VO is vital. Btw the gameplay itself is text based and needs no VO. We may use these cutscenes for promotional purposes to help market the game.

This job is just for one specific cut scene, but we hope to form a long term relationship. If all goes well we would be interested in doing further cut scenes that we could sprinkle throughout the game.

The script involves a standoff in a wild west saloon. The voiced characters are the protagonist (~250 words), the main antagonist (~138 words), and the bartender (~6 words). All need cowboy accents, but need to be distinct enough that they actually sound like different characters. This needs to be accomplished without resorting to overly extreme accents. If this proves too difficult we may end up hiring 2 different voice actors, but I am optimistic that a talented enough actors can pull it off.

To briefly introduce our characters: The protagonist is a bit older (50s), grisly, and tough. The antagonist is cocky and outspoken. The bartender just has one line--he's more polite and friendly than the other two.

Should be a fun project! Thanks for your interest!

Script Details

[Our main interest is how you handle 2 alternating cowboy accents. You may any sample script of your choosing, or use the script below from Star Wars--with distinct cowboy voices for both characters.]

As Han is about to leave, Greedo, a slimy green-faced alien
with a short trunk-nose, pokes a gun in his side. The creature
speaks in a foreign tongue translated into English subtitles.

Going somewhere, Solo?

Yes, Greedo. As a matter of fact, I
was just going to see your boss.
Tell Jabba that I've got his money.

Han sits down and the alien sits across from him holding the
gun on him.

It's too late. You should have paid
him when you had the chance. Jabba's
put a price on your head, so large
that every bounty hunter in the galaxy
will be looking for you. I'm lucky I
found you first.

Yeah, but this time I got the money.

If you give it to me, I might forget
I found you.

I don't have it with me. Tell Jabba...

Jabba's through with you. He has no
time for smugglers who drop their
shipments at the first sign of an
Imperial cruiser.

Even I get boarded sometimes. Do you
think I had a choice?

Han Solo slowly reaches for his gun under the table.

You can tell that to Jabba. He may
only take your ship.

Over my dead body.

That's the idea. I've been looking
forward to killing you for a long

Yes, I'll bet you have.

Suddenly the slimy alien disappears in a blinding flash of
light. Han pulls his smoking gun from beneath the table as
the other patron look on in bemused amazement. Han gets up
and starts out of the cantina, flipping the bartender some
coins as he leaves.

Sorry about the mess.
