Script Details

Sample Lines:
Take 1: Speaking sincerely with a very close friend
Take 2: Half-joking with a customer in your shop
Take 3: Personal interpretation
Me? C’mon, I’m just a…you know, I’m just a tailor. I could go live somewhere else, but when I got there I’d still just be a tailor.

Take 1: Trying to convince an authority figure of your innate worth
Take 2: Trying to convince yourself of your innate worth
Take 3: Personal interpretation
Right, okay, that’s fine. I’m fine. Here’s the thing, though: I haven’t done anything. I mean, I did things. I tailored cloaks, shirts, pants. I mended things. My parents mended things. Not very well, but they did it. So, I did it. I did it for years. I did it my whole life. So now I’m—sorry, I’m dead? That’s it? I’m done? No, there’s been a—definitely there’s been a mistake and I’m going…I’m going to fix it. We’re going to fix it. Let’s go.

Take 1: Your hands are magically on fire, and it is terrifying
Take 2: You’re fine with your hands being on fire, but you’re trying to calm down a friend
Take 3: Personal interpretation
I can’t help it! The gauntlets are just always on fire. I touch things, it sets them on fire. Then they run around and set other things on fire. Then there’s just fire everywhere.

Take 1: Joking with a close friend, and you know they can take it in good humor
Take 2: Sarcastically, trying to get under the other person’s skin
Take 3: Personal interpretation
Magnus tell me, when Death put you together, did he source any happiness or humor? I know that stuff’s probably expensive to import, so I’m just curious. Maybe you were born 200 years old? Or maybe Death thought: “Hey, sarcasm and malice. Nice combination. When humans die, that should be their first impression of the eternal hereafter.”

Take 1: Confronting a villainous adversary you’ve been internally conflicted over slaying
Take 2: Confronting a powerful figure you once looked up to
Take 3: Personal interpretation
You know, at first I wasn’t sure. Even with a god telling me I had to do it, I wasn’t sure. But I’ve seen what you’ve done here. I lived it. Then I died. Then I came back and lived it again and I saw the fear, that terror, everyone just broken. You could’ve fixed it. You could have driven the invaders out years ago, ended the war! You could’ve fixed everything, but you didn’t!

Take 1: Cutting off a very close friend who has been talking for way, way too long.
Take 2: An overbearing authority figure is talking your ear off and you’re done listening
Take 3: Personal interpretation
Look, it’s a ruin. You just talked for—I’m sorry—you talked for what feels like a very long time and the short version is it’s a ruin. It’s a ruin and there might be an artifact in there. I don’t need to know the whole history of the place.

Take 1: Apologizing to a close friend, and you feel bad about dismissing them earlier
Take 2: You half-heartedly apologize, saying what you think they want to hear
Take 3: Personal interpretation
All right, I’m sorry. You tried to tell me the whole history of the place, and I wasn’t really listening because it was very boring. I was brusque. Brusque and dismissive and inconsiderate, and I’m sorry.

Take 1: Pleading with a close friend to change their set-in-stone ways
Take 2: Defiantly standing up to an authority figure asking you to make a bad choice
Take 3: Personal interpretation
These people need my help, Magnus. They need our help. What good is getting rid of the Brood Lords to save humanity if we don’t, you know, help humanity? We’ve got time to do both. We can do both things. Nobody’s going to stop us except us.

Take 1: Trying to convince with an authority figure of your innate worth
Take 2: Trying to convince yourself of your innate worth
Take 3: Personal interpretation
No, see, I had plans. I know, you must get that a lot. I had plans, and I didn’t get a chance to do anything except plan. Then I died! You’re not in charge of how we die, I understand that, but there’s got to—has to be a way to go back. Everybody you talk to, I’ll bet all they want is more life. I’m asking for a life I didn’t even get in the first place.
