Health video for kids explaining a procedure
ZD1518611
This voiceover will be used in an animated video that doctors can show their pediatric patients (and their parents) before they get "scoped," like an endoscopy or laryngoscopy procedure. We would like it to sound like the voice of a girl around 8-14 years old (see character in the attached storyboard); however, we do not want it to sound too juvenile or silly, since this video will be used in a professional setting.

The goal of this video is to educate as well as put kids at ease and let them know what to expect from the procedure. Usually kids are terrified of this procedure, so we would like the VO to sound calming, confident, reassuring, and positive. Please allow a brief pause at the end of sentences and commas, so that it doesn't sound rushed.

Sometimes, in order to fix what’s making you sick, your doctor will need to get a closer look inside of your body! How does your doctor peek inside? Just like we can use a telescope to see details that are far away, your doctor will use a tiny camera, called a scope, to see up your nose and down your throat.

The scope is a small light at the end of a thin tube that looks like a strand of black spaghetti. Before putting in the tube, your doctor might apply medication to numb your nose and throat or reduce swelling. Then, the scope is inserted through the nostril and up the nose. Once it’s in, it can be moved around to see all areas of the nasal passages, throat, and even your stomach. The doctor can look on a screen to see images of what’s inside. They also may take a few cells to study. It shouldn’t hurt, but it might feel a bit funny.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
