The Championship highlights world-class venues, and features talent who are re-writing the history as we know it.
For proof, all you need to do is look to last year’s showdown at Sahalee Country Club between then 18 year old Brooke Henderson and the world’s number one player, Lydia Ko to recognize the talent who are raising the standards for Women’s golf.
Those with their eyes on the tournament were treated to a historic face-off, where in the end, the young Brooke Henderson clinched the title and cemented her name in history as the second youngest woman to win a Major Championship.
The historic roots of this Championship run deep.
The LPGA Championship began in 1955 and crowned many of the best women players in history, including three time past champions Kathy Whitworth, Nancy Lopez, Annika Sorenstam, Inbee Park and now, most recently Brooke Henderson.
The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship also features a unique mission and purpose thanks to KPMG, the well-regarded international accounting firm. The firm has not only brought creditability, but also the mission and purpose of growing women in both golf and business.
The event features one of the highest purses in women’s golf and in 2016, 100 of the top 100 players on the LPGA Tour Money List competed; making it one of the strongest fields in the history of Major Championship golf. Broadcast live on NBC and Golf Channel, the Championship features more on-air television time than any other women’s event.
Much like it’s champions, volunteers can help make history at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
Volunteers are the life-blood of the event. By volunteering at the Championship, not only will you receive a valuable gift package, but you will be granted a behind-the-scenes look and a shared sense of accomplishment helping conduct a Major Championship. The LPGA Tour superstars are friendly, gracious and thankful for your assistance.
Some volunteer positions at the event provide an up-close look at the Championship. More popular volunteer roles include walking scorers, Pro-Am assistance and admissions.
Come help us Inspire Greatness by volunteering at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. You can register to volunteer online at www.KPMGWomensPGA.com or by calling 708-996-0370. We look forward to seeing you at Olympia Fields Country Club in 2017.
