Looking for a middle-aged or senior male who can do a convincing Progressive Era (early 1900’s) North American orator or statesman accent for an educational documentary about a public space in Downtown Los Angeles.

References:
Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood is one great example, but here are some great historic references:

Instructions:
It might help to imagine you’re in a private council chamber, stating this position to your colleagues in a very logical, matter-of-fact way. Please make sure to enunciate each word clearly and consider each sentence as a separate thought so that there is plenty of gap between them for me to edit. Please read the name and date as well. And no need to add any effects or filters, as my sound designer can do this later.

The Project:
This project began as my master’s thesis at MIT's Department of Urban Studies and Planning, as a way to test the use of cinematic techniques in urban design. Since graduating, I have focused on making this into something with broader appeal that can help people to think differently about public space (in different ways than my last film, the cerebral city https://vimeo.com/131396094).

Conditions:

Technically this is a 'buyout,' as I may need to use your recording for both a short and longer version of the project. As an educational project I cannot offer compensation through Voice123, but I will give you proper credit for your work and discuss how you can use this in your reel, as well.

Thanks so much for auditioning!

Within a year, twenty-eight miles of residence buildings were erected in Los Angeles, while business blocks of architectural beauty and and metropolitan dimensions have kept pace with this city, now grown to a population exceeding 300,000.

Our parks, however, are inexcusably commonplace, with scarcely any attractive park features.

Central Park shows evidence of almost criminal negligence. The walks are deplorable, filled with the sputum of thousands. [pronounced “spyoo-tuhm”]

Botanical features will not thrive in the heart of a busy, dusty city. The park should be a thoroughfare from its corners and across it. A green lawn, arboreal effects, unobstructed view from all directions, clean exterior walks and the whole lighted for beauty and safety.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
