Script Details

As you learned, one of the ways a campus can protect students against sexual assault is by discouraging hurtful or threatening language. Let’s find out why this is so important. Saying, endorsing, or encouraging inappropriate language and storytelling at any gathering of student-athletes is dangerous and has a negative influence on all of us. Unfortunately, you may have heard inappropriate language in the locker room or elsewhere. For example, have you ever hear someone use violent language such as, “I gotta get a piece of that” or “prepping them.” How about dehumanizing language such as, “I’m tapping that later.” For each of the other types of language shown, first bring to mind examples of this type of language that you may have heard used before. Then click to reveal an instance of this type of language. All of these words and phrases strongly contribute to a culture of callousness, disrespect, and carelessness about the feelings and safety of others. Such language can make others feel demeaned and marginalized.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
