Edmunds Meet The Fleet Vlog

Edmunds.com is auditioning voices for our new long-term video blog format. This format showcases the new autos joining our fleet.

Here is a rough cut of our Long Term Vlog for the CX-9 for reference:
Mazda CX-9: https://app.frame.io/d/V78NTu5y

For reference, we like Jerry Seinfeld's delivery during his intro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UM-Q_zpuJGU

Seinfeld speaks with the confidence of an expert, his words are spoken with intention and are deliberate. We would like to hear your version of this kind of delivery.

You will find the script below.

This unusually attractive three-row crossover is the all-new 2016 Mazda CX-9. And it's not just your typical redesign. The previous-generation CX-9 debuted back in 2006, which is two presidents ago! Keeping Up With the Kardashians hadn't even started yet!

So this is a rather significant event. And at first blush, the 2016 CX-9 is a rather impressive vehicle.

We mentioned the eye-catching styling, and that's true inside, too, where the dashboard and door panels are night-and-day sleeker than before, yet the familiar three-row functionality is retained.

Under the hood there's more news, in the form of a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 250 horsepower. That's actually not a lot by class standards, but Mazda tuned the engine to make a lot of torque right off the line, so it feels like more. Also, fuel economy's up by 25 percent compared to the old V6.

Sounds like a slam dunk so far, but questions remain. Will the turbo engine be reliable? Will the CX-9's newly premium ambiance wear well over time? Will this thing finally elevate Mazda to mainstream relevance?

That's why we picked up a CX-9 Grand Touring for our long-term fleet. 12 months, 20,000 miles, just about every driving scenario you can imagine. Let's see if we're still fans when it's time to say goodbye.
