DeKalb Medical Center Nurses ZD2382084
This is a video that will be shown at an event called Celebrating Nurses, sponsored by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and will then probably be put on the DeKalb Medical Center website (we don't know their plans). The video highlights the experiences of two nurses that became patients at DMC, where they work. The read needs to be calm, not chipper, with nods to the drama of the stories.

At DeKalb Medical Center, our goal is to be a true health and wellness partner to the members of our community. Our physicians and staff are committed to walking with each patient throughout their healthcare journey. But what happens when one of our own IS the patient.
Healthcare professionals don’t think of themselves as patients, but in October of 2015, Nurse Manager Roletta Hall was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her Dekalb family took care of her. Throughout treatment, coworkers sent her everything from chocolate to inspirational text messages and even a cherished family rosary for encouragement. Employees from various departments even donated their hard earned paid leave.
Not that different from Roletta, Executive Director of Human Resources, Cathy Hardin felt a burning sensation in her left breast and within days was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma Insitu. She became consumed with all of the what ifs: Am I going to survive? What about my family? What about my job? Cathy was immediately reassured by her supervisor that Dekalb Medical Center was “With her”.
At Dekalb Medical Center, whether you’re a member of the community or one of our own employees; we are with you all the way.
