VO: Holiday marketing is usually full of love, light, and happy people.

VO: Which just wasn't going to fly for Dead Rising 4, a new Xbox One exclusive set in the holiday season

VO: These fans didn't care about the "Nice List". So we gave them what they wanted.

VO: A Christmas as irreverent as the game itself.

VO: Introducing, Frank West’s Zombie Choir.

VO: Aside from resurrecting the dead to sing your favorite Christmas carol, the REAL technical challenge was how to build a web-based keyboard that allows a user to both play and record audio using only HTML/CCS, JavaScript and a web server. Normal sound files would have literally killed our servers.

So instead of recording sounds, we recorded actions. By assigning a unique data value to each individual key, we converted action data and played it back as musical notes. So to the user, it played and recorded like a real keyboard.

VO: The only difference? Our digital keyboard sounded like hell – literally – with lurching zombie growls from the depths of the apocalypse.

VO: If that's not a Merry Christmas, we just don't know what is.
