Clinical Gestalt Introduction ZD1977874
Clinical Gestalt is a training site for medical students and residents using virtual patients. In this video trainees, authors, reviewers and institutions will learn the benefits of using Clinical Gestalt to develop and use real encounters with patients to teach that knowledge is not enough. Your job will be to do a voice over for the video. You will have the video so you may pace your audio file to match the video when I have selected the voice I would like to use. I expect to do multiple training videos. Thank you for taking on this project.

Clinical Gestalt takes virtual patient training to a new level. You have the freedom search for actions using keywords and take them without constraints. Well actually, some constraints are always present and in Clinical Gestalt the author creates a few or many actions from which you may choose. You search for actions using keywords and choose historical questions, physical examination actions, diagnostic tests, and interventions at any time. This makes Clinical Gestalt non-linear. When you make a poor choice, as all of us do, you may choose the next action completely free from the constraints of your prior choices. This makes Clinical Gestalt non-branching.
“So what’s so novel?”, you may ask. “Shouldn’t physicians always do the best thing for their patients?” Yes, you’ve got it! A patient with respiratory distress should not provide a complete past medical history before you start acting to relieve their distress. Great thinkers don’t save lives. Great thinkers who take great actions save lives. Regardless of the clinical arena patient care requires a continuous assessment of your patient’s needs and how you can address those needs. While non-linear, non-branched training sounds great for an emergency medicine physician it is paramount for all physician training. In every patient encounter a single finding may create a paradigm shift. This is clinical reasoning. Are you ready for the challenge? Clinical Gestalt can help you rise to the challenge.
